Prior to the school year ending, on June 18, Dr. Greg Baker assigned Bellingham Public Schools’ staff with a little summer homework.

In an email to all district staff, he wrote, “While I definitely want you to enjoy some well-deserved time off, I know that many of you will be continuing to live and display the tenets of The Bellingham Promise. And we’re hoping to see you and The Promise in action this summer.”

He asked staff to share a selfie (or picture) of themselves living The Promise during the summer, whether they display the action as a “healthy, active individual,” or exhibit knowledge as a “reader or writer.”
