Close to 200 people came for dinner at the School Garden Harvest Dinner on Oct. 16 at Whatcom Middle School. More than 30 student, parent and community volunteers prepared the squash soup, roasted potatoes, kale/cabbage salad, and baked apple crisp. All food consumed was harvested from the district’s 14 school gardens. This annual event and the ongoing maintenance and development of school gardens are made possible by the work of Common Threads Farm.
