Sasquatch Superbowl Champions 2016

Every spring, fourth and fifth graders in Bellingham Public Schools choose to compete in a citywide Sasquatch Superbowl.  Students form teams and prepare for the competition by reading a selection of books coordinated by the school’s library media specialists. The students prepare for the competition by meeting, discussing the books and taking practice tests related to the books. The school winners go on to the citywide competition in April.

This year’s competition in April produced fifth grade team champions from Wade King Elementary School (Abby Steensland, Alex Denoyer, Lola Bultsma and Hailey Gutierrez) and fourth grade team champtions from Roosevelt Elementary School (Chase Bartlett, Chase Nelson, Sofia Calbretta and Coren Knudson.) The champions receive a $100 gift certificate from Village Books.

Congratulations to our champion readers and to their school library media specialists Denisa Anderson (Roosevelt) and Julie Hunter (Wade King.)
